" I've heard it said over and over again by people who have no idea what it truly means. Hero. they throw the word away out into the air sometimes towards those who don't deserve it. no. they don't understand the word at all. He's my hero. she said and it made me angry. but I didn't let it show. I will explain the word to those who care to listen. a hero is not someone with super powers who is always saving the world. a hero is much more than that and much more special. it takes a certain type of person to be someone's hero. even if that someone doesn't see them as that at first. some heroes go through life seen only as an outcast or sometimes even the villain. a hero is just a person. only human. but that is not all. what makes them a hero is what they've done in life or the way they behave. one example could be a fireman rescuing someone from a burning building. though sometimes heroes are simpler and less bold than that. a hero to put it simply is someone who puts others needs befor their own and listens to others problems while keeping quiet and hiding their emotions until the person is done talking. a hero is the friend or family member who stays to comfort you when you tell them through tears to go away. a hero is the person who stops to help you find your class during your first day at a new school even when they're already late to there own. yes heroes are many things but the main things that they are not is someone who is selfish, cruel, vain, or someone who lies. so yes when I heard her say that he was her hero I felt so angry that I could have just screamed. but I decided to stay silent and there for went by as an unrecognized hero."
